SOME OF MY IDEAS ON PSYCHOTHERAPY:

Psychotherapy requires your active involvement, specifically–an effort to understand and change your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Because of this, a therapist should be chosen carefully. I always talk with prospective clients on the phone, so I can assure that your needs fall into my areas of experience and expertise. This way we can determine whether I can be a good resource for you. I strongly believe that you should be comfortable and encouraged with me as your therapist. I take a collaborative and practical, cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy. I draw on multiple disciplines, including positive psychology while being ever mindful of your strengths and values. Because we are all complex individuals, I approach our therapeutic alliance with no preconceived notions. Only as I get to know you and your situation, can we determine how to minimize your pain and optimize your potential.
